the truth is out there

[ There's a man poking his nose in where it doesn't belong. Two men, actually, but only one of them seems interested in finding anything in the infested building. Oh, yes, didn't Lucifer mention? The Hive's taken over the place, laid little eggs everywhere that hatched and found little homes in the complex's inhabitants, and now there's busy little human worker bees marching through the halls. Not a pleasant place to be, especially for humans, and yet these two are wandering around, poking things with the proverbial stick.
Well, the one. The other has his nose glued to his cellphone and responds to every observation the interesting one makes with a scoff and a reason that nothing out of the ordinary is going on. Unpleasant little man.
It doesn't take long for the worker bees to take offense to the uninfested humans interrupting operations. Lucifer watches from his perch as the two men separate, chased through the building by the Hive's lurching, grafted defenders.
Five minutes later, Lucifer turns a corner and slips into step with the interesting man. He's changed his clothes into a matching, ill-fitting suit and he jabs a claw into the head of the thing shambling down the hallway — to the human, it should look like he's fired a non-existent gun. ]
Okay, so you're right about something weird going on here.
[ He doesn't bother to copy the missing man's speech patterns. His new pal will fill them in on his own, mind smoothing over anything that seems out of place. ]
